Tutorial for ROOTING GALAXY S II

This tutorial is all about rooting your Galaxy S 2. Before you can do it you on your own should know the reason behind this why you have to do it, 

what is it, why we need it.

first, Root is an alias of super user or power user, it is an special user account for system administration. Similar to windows having its administrator account, unix-like systems have a root account. With this, you can do anything and if you run a command to delete the whole system, unix will just do it! No asking, no confirming. So, watch your steps! so, in general term Rooting is just enabling power of root for applications and other purposes.

First of all save all the files or programs on your Computer.
ODIN v1.85 - download hereCF-ROOT by Chainfire - download here (see post #3 to #7 in that thread for selection)

1. Unzip the CF-Root to .tar file.
2. Run the Odin program on your computer. Make sure Samsung Kies is not running in background.
3. Make sure that Repartition is uncheck.
4. Click the PDA button. browse and chose CF-Root.tar

5.Set your phone as USB degging mode. Go to Settings>Applications>Development>USB Debugging (optional)
6.Set your phone on Download mode. To do so, turn off the phone then press home button+power+volume down

7. Connect the phone to computer using usb. 

Make sure you see a word added! on the message box of odin.

8. Click ang Start button.
9. Wait for the phone to reboot.
10. Done!

[Tut] Nandroid Back up 
Backup first before to flash Custom Rom. Make sure that you had installed the CWM Recovery on your phone. Included on CF-Root the CWM Recovery.

1. reboot your phone on recovery.
Note: Volume up (scroll up); Volume down (scroll down);Power (back); Home (ok)
2. Chose back up and restore.
3.chose backup
4. This must be the log

Clockworkmod recovery xx.x.x Sd card space free: xxxMB Backing up boot image... Backing up recovery image .... Backing up system... Backing up data... Backing up .android_secure... Backing up cache... No sd-ext found.. Skipping backup of sd-ext... Generating md5 sum... Backup complete!

5.You can see the backup package on sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/yyyy-mm-dd.x.x.x

Flashing ROM/Kernel Using Odin

1. Download the Choosen package. It can be a .tar o .md5 file.
2. Run the Odin program on your computer. Make sure Samsung Kies is not running in background.
3. Make sure that repartition is unchecked.
4. I-click ang PDA. Browsed and chose the package.
5. Just follow the steps on 5-10 step on tutorial of root.

Flashing ROM/Kernel/Themes Using CWM Recovery (RECOMMENDED)REQ: Rooted using CF-Root

1. Download the chosen package. it should be on zip and saved on sdcard.
2. reboot the phone on CWM Recovery. how to do it: turn off the phone then press Volume Up+Home+Power.
3. Install zip on sdcard. find and select the zip filethat you have to flash
4. Reboot the phone.

Flashing Kernel Using CWM Manager.REQ: Rooted phone and CWM Manager that can be downloaded below.

1. Download the kernel (the file should be .tar). If it is zipped just extract the .tar
2. Save on sdcard.
3. Open the CWM Manager.
4. Tap the Flash Kerneland find .tar on sdcard.
5. The Phone will be automatically rebooted.
